Happy Birthday Kevin Covais!
May 29, 2008

Everyone remembers Kevin Covais, from Levittown, New York, the eleventh place finalist from Season 5. Why? Because he was just the cutest little thing ever! So much so that his fellow contestant during that season, Paris Bennett dubbed him “Chicken Little”. And though Kevin was voted off that season, he has been an extremely busy man.
Not just content with being a member of the metropolitan Youth Chorale, the National Honor Society, and a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association, he also co-starred alongside Drake Bell in the 2008 comedy, “College”, sang at the Disney World Holiday Concert in 2006, and just recently, he rapped on his friend and fellow Idol, Paris Bennett’s debut cd, “Princess P”.
Though he hasn’t been signed yet, our old friend Kevin remains hopeful, saying, “Who knows, maybe something big will happen.” With all of this on his plate so far, we’re very sure it will!
Hello…and Goodbye!
May 6, 2008
Hi Idolaters! I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Idol Day, and give everyone a more official goodbye than I was able to do on Friday, as time just really got away from me that day!
First of all, thank you to Andy Pandy for being patient, as I didn’t get to her blogger spotlight last week as I had hoped. You will be first upon my return!
Second of all, I wanted to leave this link in case of technical troubles in my absence (What technical issues!? LOL!). One of our techs told me this is a good place to report the issues, as they check this thread frequently for issues:

Oh, and in case you’ve been wondering what I’ve been doing since I left, look at that sweet face above…I’ve been catching up on family time! And Oprah just might be interviewing Barbara Wawa in the background here. Although I’ve been busy trying to get to all the things I’ve been wanting to do for a while, I have to admit, it’s already been heaven. Unfortunately, one of those things was taking Olive to the vets to find out why she’s had some, well, intestinal distress, to put it mildly. And she’s been doing to the boot scoot boogies across the carpet, which we all know is never good. Apparently, ground beef and rice is not the breakfast of champions for dogs…who knew!? Needless to say, Doc wants her to go on a diet. The diet food has been sitting in her bowl for the last day, not even touched!
Who me? I’m just voluptuous!
I’m looking forward to my first show in which I don’t have to take notes tonight. Notorious B.I.G. is looking forward to the (plate of) cookies I’m going to consume during the show. And what a great show to get to sit back and enjoy…Songs from the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. Will Pauler show up wearing a$$less chaps? Will David Archuleta pull a Taylor Hicks microphone kick? Will Simon show up with a secret message shaved into his nature sweater? Only time will tell, people!
In the meantime, I just wanted to let you know that a temp is doing my job while I’m gone, as Dave really had too much on his plate to take on my job as well, and the Insider Blog will be taking a vacation, although I do believe there will be a blog done by the whole group. I will surely be lurking but most likely won’t blog until Notorious is here, and I will make sure to post some pix! So take care of yourself, and know that I will miss you all terribly!
TOP 10 RESULTS
May 2, 2008

Hi Friends–I have a feeling by the end of this day I’m going to make Brooke White look like she held it together the other night in comparison! At first, I was a bit worried when I saw nearly 10 pages of comments on my blog, as I didn’t know if I would have time to compile them all! Luckily, what I saw as I scrolled through was a genuine party on my blog yesterday, and it absolutely tickled me. The conversation somehow made its way to tacos, famous encounters, and bloggers going on double dates with some of the Idols…don’t ask. But it made me giggle, and that’s just the way I’d like to go out!
I’m hoping to be back later to do another post, as I was really, really hoping to do Andy Pandy’s blogger spotlight, so this isn’t goodbye just yet!
In the meantime, enjoy your…

Top 5 Interviews and Carly’s Goodbye
April 25, 2008
Sure, we’ve all heard them sing, but have you really heard them talk much besides the bits and pieces they get in with the judges and Ryan? One of my (lucky) co-workers got to sit down with the Top 5 Idols and chat about this, that, and the other, and the Top 5 videos are up on the site. That link goes right to Brooke, but you can get to the others by clicking on their links as well. They are pretty entertaining, as Syesha talks about her hair and what she REALLY thinks of Simon, Brooke talks about her EMOTIONS, Jason talks about how he remains himself (Warning: It’s a short video, but is anyone surprised? He is a man of few words, that’s fo sho), David Cook talks about how he keeps it together despite what he’s got going on on behind the scenes, and David Archuleta chats about how his experience is different as the youngest Idol…check ‘em out!

Also, we just posted this article on my phone exit interview with Carly, and, I must say, of all the Idols, she really shed the most light on the whole experience…some interesting tidbits…she named Amanda Overmyer as her fave of the season (Go Maggie!), she worked at the same bar as Michael Johns in Atlanta, and she has an interesting theory about the guys this season. As you’ll see in the article, she says that she thinks the guys have really charmed the women viewers this season, and she thinks it’s been more of a struggle for the female Idols to do the same. What say you on this theory? Regardless of what you think, it’s pretty cool that she speaks her mind the way she does.
Have a wonderful weekend, all!
Carly Smithson Speaks on Elimination
April 25, 2008
Carly Smithson recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss her experience on American Idol. Here are excerpts:
Entertainment Weekly: You were fantastic on Tuesday. What happened?
Carly Smithson: I have no idea. Who knows? It’s American Idol, so I think I just have to kind of move on and have a good attitude about it. Everybody’s going to leave at any time.
Entertainment Weekly: You seem to be taking it really well. You appeared to be in …

Idol Tour Dates and Fashion Faux Pas!
April 23, 2008
First of all, I’d like to make an important announcement, especially to our own Cait24 who’s been so patiently awaiting this news:
American Idols LIVE! 2008 tour dates have been announced!
I was also working on our newsletter for this weekend, and I came across a fun Style video I thought you guys might enjoy. It’s a video on the Idols’ fashion faux pas, and I’m sure we can all relate. So I thought I’d throw that out to you guys. Can you think of any outfits that the Idols have worn that might not have been up your alley? I found two that weren’t exactly my style, and I’m sure DC will not be happy with me for one of them.
(I can’t help but think new age French maid costume?)
Sorry Dave, but we can laugh now, since she’s a HUGE star and is now a fashion icon–right, buddy? Don’t be angry!
What about any of your own fashion faux pas from the past? I can think of one particular outfit that I wore in 7th grade that literally makes me shudder. It was a Mickey Mouse shirt that I paired with orange parachute pants, and I made sure to wear it with the Madonna bow in my hair–shudders!
